About Andrew Leith Macrae

I have placed short stories in literary magazines, notably Writ, Quarry and Grain, and in anthologies such as In the Dark: Stories of the Supernatural (forthcoming in October 2006 from Tightrope Books). I am currently in the process of selecting a publisher for Outer Darkness, which has benefited immeasurably from editorial work by my mentor and friend, Austin Clarke.

I am also working on a collection of short stories, working title Matter and Spirit, and begun work on my next novel, working title: The Man with the Prosthetic Brain; or, How I Flunked the Turing Test. I was also the Managing and Fiction Editor of the (late, lamented) literary journal, Pagitica.

I haven't yet quit my day job, working in the new media field under the name of Advent Media. I live in downtown Toronto with my cat, Boswell (who shows no signs of beginning my biography). In what little spare time I have I sing in the Ritual Choir at St. Mary Magdalene's, enjoy classical music, cycle, camp, work out, and read more than is probably good for me.
